Good Morning Audrey

I woke this morning and I thought of you.  And I thought …

This is it!

I must stop everything right this minute and send you a letter.  I’ve been meaning to do so for the past week and then I got your text yesterday.  It was wonderful to hear from you.

So while I have my coffee
and figure out my day
I’ll write a little message
for there’s always lots to say!

I will tell you what I’m doing
and say that I am fine
I will ask what you are up to
and how you’ll pass your time.

Will you make another quilt
or take some time to read
Perhaps you’ll sit and meditate
for time to think is what you need

So now I’ll sketch some flowers
just a few in a bouquet
in hopes they’ll bring a smile to you
and brighten up your day

.

Forget-Me-Nots to let you know
I thought of you this morning

Am sitting here just enjoying the quiet of the morning.  There is a light snow falling and I have everything ready to head out to Gander.  I usually leave at 6:30.  Luckily there’s not enough snow to warrant getting the snowblower out before I go.  I did a clean up last evening so the driveway is in pretty good shape.  We don’t have a lot of snow yet but more than you do by the sounds of it.

Yes, I knew Auntie Beulah had been sick.  Thank goodness she saw that one through okay.  We usually chat two or three times a week. I guess you know by now that she’s decided she’s had enough of that ‘home’ situation and is moving out the end of February.  She really isn’t contented there so will go back to Glendale.  I can certainly understand how she feels.

5 quilts … holy crow, Audrey.  You haven’t stopped much that’s for sure.  I really like the sound of the ‘nurse themed’ one.  I bet Brooke will LOVE it.  And, what a wonderful keepsake to celebrate the start of her nursing career.  Imagine Audrey … this is your grandchild.  Where in the world did those years go.

Isn’t it wonderful to have a hobby that you love?  Otherwise, I imagine you would find the winter a wee bit long. I wonder how Perc is faring out and how he’s keeping busy.  I do hope you are both contented.  There must be times when you miss being home though.  Ah, but time flies.  I wrote a short piece on time a couple of weeks ago if you’d like to have a read  (https://aboutlittlethings.com/in-the-blink-of-an-eye/)  Before you know it you’ll be back and settled in.  Fingers crossed it will be an early spring and we’ll be back at the gardens again.  I ordered seeds a couple of days ago.  And, I wonder how that potato experiment is doing.

Have an absolutely wonderful day and be sure to say hello to Perc for me.  Love and hugs to both of you!
