You will look back and reminisce
You will feel a mixture of pride, sadness and joy
all jumbled together because it was special.
You’ll roll your eyes at some
of the foolishness you contended with.
You will smile and laugh at the humour of it all
and now you say “goodbye”.
In the next breath there is “Hello”!

we looked forward with anticipation
to each new season and
its special moments,
challenges and surprises.
Retirement is another season,
another new beginning
a time to harvest the benefits from a life of planting
a time to sow new seeds
a time to lift your wings and fly

with a bit of excitement;
with time to relax and enjoy
the freedom and flexibility to do
