You see I love quotes and every morning I search for something special in my little collection and then share it with you on the website. This morning I found one that was attributed to Marcus Aurelius, a Roman Emperor way back in time (161 to 181 BC). He was a Stoic philosopher who later was known as the last of the Five Good Emperors. He said,
Good One! It suited my mood and I just knew you’d love it, too.
Yesterday my friend sent me a text saying she was “ROTTED”. The brakes on the car were causing trouble AND her washing machine kicked the bucket. What a day! Oh but I can relate to that. Can’t you? The best quote that suits that situation is “It never rains, but it pours“. I don’t know about you, but that’s what often happens in my world too –
… new tires needed for the car, the kettle breaks, there’s a mouse who came to visit and CRA decides you didn’t pay enough income tax this year.
Well, I got an update from my friend this morning (it was just after I published the quote from Marcus). She was so happy that she’d found a new washing machine (on sale) and her son had popped by to install it. So everything was good to go again. It was then that I had the discussion (argument) with Marcus. Now I don’t like discord and prefer complete harmony in my life but I just couldn’t resist having that little chat with him. His quote was great but there were two others that popped in my mind that were far more inspirational than his. And, there can be only one per day, remember. Oh the choices we have to make!
Which would you choose? I wonder…
And so my day began –
the fireplace plazing, a cozy chair, pen and writing paper, dressing gown and slippers,
and then the sound of a rushing water.
