I often wonder if this happens to everybody or is it just me. In any event, it’s the very thing that will slow you down and help put everything back in perspective.
Well, I finally came up with my recipe for this year’s card. It took a while. It usually does actually. My aim has always been to use recipes that are quick and easy but delicious. The second requirement is that, within reason, the ingredients must be everyday things you would normally find in your pantry.
But this year was a bit harder. It was difficult to think straight. You see, back in February I lost all my files when my hard drive crashed. It was a fatal error – a fatal hardware error. It was irreparable and the data unrecoverable. Really! Go ahead. I can almost hear you say it – I should have had a back up.
I lost it all including the list of recipes – the ones I’ve used in my Christmas cards since I started the tradition in 1989.
Christmas 2021
So the Christmas tradition was well underway. With the Card designed, notes written and recipe inserted, the first batch was ready for the post office. It was 11:30 am and lots of time before the mail was set to go for the day. I called my friend with plans for a coffee break when I was in town. Unfortunately, she was up to her eyes in chores that morning. I should have taken it as a sign!
With cards in hand, I reached for my keys and it happened … hit my elbow on the corner and away they all went. Some of them pitched across the room. The others landed neatly in the scrubbing bucket. Such nice warm soapy water with a touch of pine sol.
I made it to the post office the following day!
I gather this was not on your “ bucket list”
You are learning from George? Or, has he learned from you? Such quick humour. By the way, don’t forget to share my posts to your social media accounts.
Well on the bright side there wasn’t a hole in your bucket dear Beulah; dear Beulah 🤨 Please tell – what did you learn from this? 😁🤔
Lesson … Not to use Pine Sol as a cleaning agent. he he he
oh my , at least the bucket of water didn’t land on top of your head . This happened to me years ago while cleaning windows outside, last window , the water was pretty dirty. Went to step off the ladder and thought l was on the ground ‘NOT’, l stepped on a large rock and it of course moved. The bucket went right up in the air and landed directly right on top of my head. Soaked l was , looked around fast to see if any neighbors caught the incident lol. SHOWER IT IS !!!!
You had me laughing as I pictured that … you could have had a concussion and it still would have been funny! Thank you for sharing. Such a good laugh!
