The sun will come out Debbie

You were on my mind when I woke this morning, Debbie

Some days are tough
Some days are even tougher
Then, the tears form a rainbow
and the sun breaks through.

Yesterday I could feel your heart ache from across the room. I could only imagine your thoughts and I knew you could use a rainbow.

We each carry a backpack
on this journey of ours.
Sometimes it gets overloaded
with the burdens of every day
– the injustices, the grief,
the sadness, the struggles.

I hope today is filled
with rainbows
and that your load is lighter.

Sending you smiles and hugs
to help fortify.

Blessings,
Beulah

I wrote this poem sometime after Dave died.  I hope the words will be ones that will resonate and speak to you today.

“When I lie in bed at the end of a day
that was long and lonely and sad
I stop and switch my my mind around
to count the blessings I’ve had.

I search for a spark, just some little thing,
that had happened during the day.
There was bound to be something that made me smile
Some happy thought that had come my way.

It might be the aspen touched with gold
or a maple that is now firey red
A precious memory from the past
or a wonderful poem I’d read.

I think of our lives and how special it was
the laughter and love – not the sorrow.
And now I look forward in trust and in faith,
the sun will come out tomorrow.”

“At the end of the day, we are all just walking each other home.”
