Live Every Moment

Yesterday a friend of mine posted on Facebook that her husband had had a massive heart attack and was in critical condition, the family unsure of what the next 24 hours would bring.  At that point it had been only with the quick action of friends, paramedics and medical staff that he had been pulled back from the brink of death.

Life itself is only a blink of an eye!

Don’t you find that it is often easy to fall into a routine in everyday living, so much so that you forget that tomorrow is not guaranteed.  I know I often do.  I somehow get used to one day following the other.  But then comes the most spectacular sunset! The beauty of it lasts only a short time and you want to soak it in to your very being before it fades into the darkness. It is then that the finite strikes home.  But then on a beautiful starlit night with a full moon, the darkness never fully comes and you feel like it will go on forever.

I sat on the banks of the river
and listened to the call of the loons
wondering the stories they were telling
in the majestic light of the moon.

Live each day as if it were your last, getting the most out of every minute, every hour

We have two lives!  The second one begins when you realize you only have one. ~ Confucious

As I look back at the end of the day,
I wonder what I have done.
The time has gone. Did I make it worthwhile?
Did I walk in darkness or with the force of the sun.
