To Begin Again

Starting fresh with a blank canvas as we begin a brand new year!

A Reflection

On this day, one year ago, what were your plans, your hopes and dreams and what became of those as the year moved along?  In some ways the year was a tough one. Some days may have been filled with grief, anxiety and the struggles of every day life.  Other days were filled with moments of joy, laughter and of accomplishments.

New Year’s Eve is usually a day of celebration – one to say goodbye to the year that was and welcome the new.  For some it may also be a birthday.  For me it holds special memories of an anniversary. December 31, 2021 would have been our 50th.

Throughout the evening I received so many messages from family and friends, it took several hours to read through each one. It was such a wonderful way to spend the evening with thoughts of each person reminding me of how fortunate I am to have them in my life.  One of the greetings included this reflection which I want to share with you.

“The old year is worn and tired.  Time now to kiss it goodbye.  Take with you its wisdom – the authority and the power of all you have learned. Remember the past year with love, let go of its despair.  Live the year that lies ahead with fresh energy and hope.  Be strong, have courage.  It is time now for something new!”

To Begin Again!

It is early morning, New Year’s Day 2022, and I am sitting in front of a blank canvas, an empty plate, and a new journal with pages just waiting to be filled. To some that may be terrifying. To others it is exciting – an adventure waiting to happen.  If you are a planner like me, it is wonderful.  You already have a strategy in mind and a plan of attack waiting to be rolled out. How wonderful to have another chance to start again!

“As you begin another trip around the sun”

Never stop dreaming
Never stop loving
Never stop being you

Happy New Year!

And now to begin again – my paints are ready; my plate is full.
My hand reaches for the pen!

Please share with your friends
