Baked Beans – slow cooker

Boston Baked Beans - Slow Cooker

Ingredients
3 cups dried navy beans
6 cups water
½ lb uncooked bacon strips
1 lg onion, diced
½ cup ketchup
3/4 cup molasses
¼ cup brown sugar
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
1 tsp salt
¼ tsp ground black pepper
1 tsp dry mustard
1 tbsp yellow mustard
1 or 2 drops liquid smoke (optional)

Directions:
Soak beans in water overnight OR boil beans and water for 1 hour.  Strain, reserving liquid, and place beans in slow cooker.  Mix remaining ingredients and add 1 1/2 cups of reserved liquid.  Mix well and pour over beans.  Make sure there’s at least 1″ of liquid covering the beans.  Cover and cook on low for 8 hours.
